RESEARCH MENTORING SERIES

INNOVATION ACADEMY: THE IRIS RESEARCH MENTORING SERIES

Human capital is the engine of innovation and entrepreneurship. And just like in other professions, establishing a respectable and reputable career as an academic researcher entails personal and professional investment. In addition to widening a network of quality peers, sharpening your skills and competencies in written as well as oral communication is important if one’s research has to make impact on a broad range of readers or audience. Effective writing that is valued by your students and institutional colleagues as well as professional peer group establishes you as an independent investigator with your own ideas and solid professional research goals.

You can advance in your career in academic research by developing high grade scientific and technical writing skills that result in having a strong publication record with a reasonable number of first-author publications.

Go beyond what is expected. Know what writing and oral communication metrics of excellence guide your counterparts in universities from other countries. Reinforce your skills, set yourself apart, increase your research productivity, and join the global research community in earnestly building and contributing your own blocks of knowledge.

The Institutes for Research, Innovation, and Scholarship (The IRIS), in partnership and co-hosted by regional public and private universities, offers Research Mentoring Workshops on Writing, Preparing, and Publishing Scientific / Scholarly Papers in Indexed Journals and Writing a Competitive Grant Proposal.
