WHY LEADING INNOVATION MATTERS?


The 21st century global knowledge economy and the Fourth Industrial Revolution require men and women who can lead and manage the dynamic process of knowledge creation and knowledge transfer as well as an environment characterized by uncertainty, risks, ambiguity, complexity, creativity, innovativeness and diversity. As leaders, we owe it to the Filipino people to ensure that Philippine higher education is at par with our neighbors in the ASEAN and other partners in the world. The innovation strategy is crucial towards making our universities more innovative and globally competitive, providing solutions to societal and industry issues and challenges, supporting economic transformation, and leapfrogging to industrialization.

As a University Leader entering this Course, you will examine varying modes of university leadership from around the world in the age of creative disruption. You will re-formulate your personal statements of mission and purpose and create a culture of curiosity and collaboration as a leader. You will learn tried and tested tools and strategies to increase the productivity of your constituents. You will identify novel approaches to -re up the innovative spirit of university stakeholders and in turn rally them to support your mission. Finally, you will craft a vision of innovation that you and your team will assimilate and implement in your university.
